The new Mount Lawley Christmas Festival is on from 4pm to 9pm on Sunday 29th November 2015.
The Festival is at St Patrick’s Anglican Church on the corner of First Avenue, flowing down Wenberi Lane to 2nd Ave IGA and spilling out in front of UnchARTed Collective on Beaufort Street.
This is a free landmark event boasting a wide array of activities that are bound to please including camel rides, artisan stalls, food vans and markets. It is presented by The Anglican Parish of St Patrick’s Mt Lawley, City of Stirling – Arts and Events, 2nd Ave IGA and Uncharted Collective.
The festival will be accompanied by live music throughout, with a relaxed wine and beer garden to while away the evening. Activities will be punctuated by the world premiere of a Perry Joyce work by the Soprano Project, and culminating with Carols by Candlelight complete with concert band and live nativity scene. Oh – and don’t forget the lighting of the soon to be iconic Mount Lawley Christmas tree… see you there!
A new Mount Lawley mural project needs your help.
The project will involve 10 local artists organised by The Laneway Collective. It will transform a boring old brick wall beside Psychology Australia (on Grosvenor Road behind the Flying Scotsman) in to an outdoor street art gallery.
The City of Vincent will contribute $2,500 if the community can match it and contribute another $2,500. If the community doesn’t raise the cash, the project will not happen. So we need your help!
