Event & Festival Intern Wanted!

Love events, people, arts, creativity and good times? Come work with us!
Actually it’s more like good times than work. We want your unbridled enthusiasm, your passion, your creativity and your stamina.
We’re the Beaufort Street Artisan Market, or BSAM. You may have heard of us. We’re run mostly by volunteers and are in need of a few more hands on deck. We’re all about providing a platform for local artisans to exhibit and sell their wares. We enjoy seeing the local community out and about in the ‘hood, interacting with each other. Making a better Beaufort Street and engaging the community is something we’re passionate about.

The BSAM is held on the second Sunday of every month in the Barlee Street car park, Mt Lawley. We need a hand with bumping in and out, liaising with the makers, interviewing the artisans, interacting with them on the day, helping the manager source entertainment, buskers and more. We’ll also have other awesome events during the year which you can collaborate on and be a part of. What we can offer in return is friendship, guidance, work experience, a written reference, networking, good times and a whole lot more!
About you. You may be studying event management and want to get your hands dirty with real event experience. Or you may just enjoy hanging with cool peeps and helping out in your spare time. Whatever the case, we’d like to hear from you. Please shoot us through an email and a CV with a few words about yourself. The email address is [email protected]
TIA, team BSAM.
Inside Out Photo Gallery
The Beaufort Street Network is encouraging all businesses to turn Inside Out.
Bringing merchandise, art, planters, welcome mats and seats out on to the footpath helps make Beaufort Street more interesting and promote local businesses.
The Network is working with the Cities of Vincent and Stirling to make it easier to turn Inside Out. Some possible ideas for businesses are:
- Bring merchandise out on to the street for display and sale
- Create pop up installations outside your shop
- Display interesting objects in shop windows or on the footpath (e.g. public art pieces)
- Host a pop up performance inside or outside the shop (e.g. buskers, yoga classes, book readings)
- Bring temporary chairs or pot plants outside your business to provide comfort and greenery for passing pedestrians
- Alfresco food and drinks
The first Inside Out event was held on Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May 2020. It was a trial to help us progress the idea. Here are some of the pictures from the weekend.
Inside Out Entertainment and Kids Activities Sat 30 Apr & Sun 1 May

The Upside to the Inside Out Weekend – Sat 30 April and Sun 1 May

The end of April nears and the ‘Inside/Out’ event is coming to Beaufort Street, seeing the retailers come out from behind their counters to spill their wares onto the street.
On the weekend of April 30 and May 1, the fabulous shops of Beaufort Street are going to bring their insides out – their shop wares of course. The action packed weekend organised by the good people of the Beaufort Street Network will see the street’s retailers trundle out their best to enjoy a carnival-like atmosphere of activity. And of course the public is needed to complete the party.
“Local businesses will be the star attraction of this concept. We’re hoping that this street activation will entice locals and those further afield to fossick and find unique treasures.

“Bring your friends, family, kids and fur babies to enjoy buskers and street fun. There could be no better time than to enjoy a leisurely stroll along our beloved Street,” said Beaufort Street Network Chair Pam Herron.
An even bigger bonus will be the launch of the revamped Beaufort Street Artisan Market on Sunday the 1st of May.
“We’re appealing to all those locals who love living here to support our local shops who are giving that extra yard with a unique street-side experience,” said Pam.
“Beaufort Street constantly surprises with a unique blend of merchants that offer diversity and interest. Come join the Inside/Out experience on April 30th or the first of May or both. You can never have too much of a good thing!”
Inside Out is presented by the Beaufort Street Network in partnership with community group Inglewood on Beaufort. The event will stretch from Brisbane Street all the way up to Inglewood.
Further details can be found at both the Beaufort Street Network Facebook Page and on the webpage – https://beaufortstreet.com.au/inside-out-weekend/.
